Members of both Crochet Group 1 and Group 2 braved the cold and fog to top all the posts around Broad Street and down High Street with their colourful and creative work this week.
This is now an annual tradition in time for the Georgian Christmas Market taking place over the weekend but the toppers will stay up until the New Year so that the community can enjoy them all over the festive period.
We started this as a bit of fun in August 2023 for the Plum Festival and made over 60 crocheted toppers in plum colours of purple pink yellow and green which were very well received. We were then inspired to make toppers of a Christmas theme for the inaugural market last year.
Although both groups work separately , when put together they look amazing and we have been gratified by the positive feedback, in person and on the local FB pages. It's also an excellent opportunity for the two groups to get together and have a well deserved hot drink afterwards.
See how many you can spot! 48 at the last count....
