‘What makes us tick?

Objectives: – Exploration of ‘everyday Psychology’

Participatory/facilitated discussion groups of approx 12 members who take it in turns to ‘lead’ on a topic of their choice.

No previous experience or qualifications are required. Just an interest and inquisitiveness in the subject.

Guest speakers are invited occasionally to provide specialist input and different perspectives.

Examples of topics covered include:

  • Can we get more out of life if we understand others and ourselves better?
  • Reading Body Language – 1st impressions & creating empathy.
  • Perception
  • Memory and forgetting
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Humour
  • The ageing brain
  • Nature vs Nurture
  • Managing stress in our lives
  • The psychology of Grief
  • Compliance, Obedience and conformity
  • Consciousness, dreams and nightmares
  • Motivation
  • The psychology of change
